Sarah in her Studio

Sarah’s resume represents her artist career to date. Early exhibits were in fiber arts, painting and drawing, presently the focus is light and paper sculpture. It is the cumulative experiences of working with a wide range of materials and techniques that enliven her work.

"I have spent much of my adult life creating art of one kind and another. I started making light sculptures after a workshop on making Nougouchi Akari lights. While intrigued by the creation of form through mold building, I found I needed a more immediate way to create my work. I wanted to see the form emerge in relation to the light, thus I arrived at "Light Sculptures". I contnue to be engaged by the possibilities that the materials provide and particularly enjoy the problem solving that comes with combining function and art."
